Please take your time to read and understand the following information with regard to KYC (Know You Customer).

If you have an Mpesa assistant, he/she should be knowledgeable of the areas to look out for when handling Mpesa transactions.

*A: KYC ASSISTANT TRAINING*

‼️Ensure every customer has their original ID before offering any Safaricom service

‼️Inspect the ID to verify the details of the customer

‼️Do not serve minors who have been sent by adults even if they have the adult IDs

‼️Verify ID and money to ensure that they are not fake

‼️Do not perform any transaction for a customer who is not present at the outlet

‼️Ensure you are registered on the Partner App using your own ID

‼️Do not share Partner App credentials with other Sub Agent Assistants

‼️Ensure you are using your own agent ID and PIN to perform transactions on the Mpesa Till


*B: FRAUD SCENARIOS Training*

✅ Always keep the MPESA till or handset safely within your sight

✅ Beware of fraudsters pretending to be calling from Safaricom. Safaricom only calls from *0722000000*

✅ Check your personal phone to ensure that no number has been saved as MPESA or *0722000000*

✅ Safaricom will only contact you via the MPESA till and not on your personal number.

✅ Do not take instructions on your personal phone.

✅ Do not accept to speak to customer care through the phone of the customer.

✅ Do not allow a customer to touch or use your MPESA handset or till.

✅ Never disclose your PIN or Agent ID or float balance to anyone.

✅ Only trained and authorized person should be allowed to operate the MPESA till.

✅ Invest in an ultraviolet light to check for fake notes

✅ Do not perform arbitrage transactions in order to make more commissions

*C: REPORT ALL SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITIES*

⚠️ Report all suspicious activities by dialling USSD 234 and using the fraud reporting option.

⚠️ Report fake currencies and fraud incidences
